Uneven skin tone is something which is detested by everyone. It looks really odd when your face has a different colour form your hands and feet. Most people take special care of their face so as to look fair, but in that process forget to take care of their hands and feet. The feet and hands can get dark and tanned for many reasons, such as continuous exposure to the harmful UV rays of the sun, pollution, dust, and no cleansing and exfoliation. These days many chemical cosmetics are available which can provide temporary fairness to your hands and feet but they have their respective side effects. So it’s best to de-tan and cleanse your hands and feet at home, using natural and effective products.
So here are some natural homemade packs, which will help you in attaining fair and glowing hands and feet.
Milk and Dried Orange Peel
Orange peel contains natural bleaching properties and thus helps in skin whitening. Moreover, milk which contains lactic acid helps in removing the dead cells on the skin and also in nourishing and cleansing the skin.
Procedure: Take some dried orange peels and grind them in a grinder to make the powder. Take a bowl, add some orange peel powder and milk to it, so as to make a thick mixture. Wash your feet and hands with water and then apply the paste on them. Wash the paste after 20 minutes, with cold water. Do this method three times a week to get fair hands and legs.
Potato contains nutrients which help in effective skin bleaching and skin lightening.
Procedure: You can simply wash a potato, cut a thin slice and rub it all over your hands and feet. You can even peel the potato and then extract its juice in a bowl and apply the potato juice all over your hand and feet. Let your skin absorb the juice and then wash your skin with water after 15 minutes. You can repeat this process daily to get the best results.
Tomato Juice and Sandalwood Powder Pack
Sandalwood powder not only helps in skin lightening but also heals the skin by nourishing it. When you mix sandalwood powder and tomato juice, the pack not only acts as a skin whitening mask but also helps in getting rid of the skin blemishes.
Procedure: Take a bowl, mix 2 tablespoon of sandalwood powder, 2 teaspoon of squeezed tomato juice, 2 teaspoon of lemon juice and 2 teaspoon of cucumber juice and make a consistent paste. Apply this paste on your hands and feet and wash it with water after 15-20 minutes.
Honey and Lemon Juice
Honey not only helps in skin listening but also helps to moisturize the skin. Lemon is considered as an effective skin bleaching agent. Making a mixture of these two ensures fair and glowing skin.
Procedure: In a bowl, take 1 tablespoon of honey and squeeze half a slice of lemon in it. You can even add some milk powder to it, as milk powder also helps in skin whitening. Apply the mixture on your hands and feet, and then wash it with water after 20 minutes.
- Almonds contain many essential nutrients such as Vitamin E, which help in skin whitening. Apart from skin lightening, it also helps to rejuvenate the skin.
Procedure: Soak some 7-8 almonds overnight. In the morning, take out their skin and grind them to make a paste. Add 2 teaspoon milk, 2 teaspoon besan (gram flour) and 6-7 drops of lemon juice to the almond paste. Massage the paste on your hands and feet and then wash it with water after 10-15 minutes.
Gram Flour Pack
Gram flour or besan can create wonders to your skin. Gram flour has been used as a 100% effective skin whitening ages, since a long time.
Procedure: In a small bowl, add 3 tablespoon of besan, 3 tablespoon of milk, 2 teaspoon of haldi or turmeric powder and 4-5 drops of lemon juice. Make a fine paste and apply the paste on your feet and hands. Wash the paste with normal water after 15 minutes.
Curd, Oatmeal and Tomato Pack
Oatmeal acts as a scrubbing agent which helps in exfoliating the dead skin cells. Curd which contains lactic acid not only helps to lighten and whiten the skin, but also helps the skin in retaining its original glow.
Procedure: Take 4 tablespoons of oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of tomato juice and 2 tablespoons of curd. Apply the mixture on your hands and feet. Wash the paste after 15 minutes with cold water.
Yogurt and Turmeric Pack
Turmeric is an ancient skin whitening agent. Both turmeric and yogurt when mixed together act as oxidising agents which help in de-tanning the skin and retaining its original colour.
Procedure: Take 2 tablespoons of yogurt and add 2 teaspoons of turmeric to it. Apply the mixture on your feet and hands and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Wash your skin with lukewarm water.
